English or Australian player? Trying to work out who it was.

My son came out with the fifth player in the tunnel. The one who had the headband on. His mother was east upper front row to the right and couldn't even get a picture with a zoom lens.

Just saying

Broncos play at Trailfinders in Ealing now...great little ground with an artificial pitch and 3 bars!! Just hop on a bus from Ealing Broadway and Bob's yer uncle! Great way to spend a Summer Sunday afternoon..

Normally the Kiwis get better as the tournament goes on as they get used to playing with each other, but it doesn't appear to be the case this time around. New coach in David Kidwell of course, but mostly the same set of players as Kearney.

I agree on the tours. I used to love getting up to watch the Kiwis playing a 3 test series vs GB in the wee small hours.

Mind you, the same applies to international rugby - I wish they still toured properly too.

I used to watch the Broncos/Harlequins when they played at the Stoop. Wasn't a bad day out, even if it was shit to get to from the other side of London.

Re: Eng v Aus Rugby League Sun
NZ look average these days. I didn't think Kearney was that exceptional, but they were so much better under him.

I think the international scene is leagues weakness compared to union. World Cups etc will never be as big . I miss the old Kangaroo tours.

Re: Eng v Aus Rugby League Sun
England lost again of course but not a bad day out, problem is basically that all of Australia's players are world class compared to 4 or 5 of ours.

Not playing the game yesterday was a big mistake IMO, sure would have been over 50k if it had been.

Anyway get yourselves over London Broncos next season guys, going to be a good season hopefully.

Re: Eng v Aus Rugby League Sun
Weird moment after the game. I stayed back to see if the players would come over, and after about 30 seconds, an African steward got into my face to tell me the game was over and why am I still here (with the hundreds of others)...Anyway, I stayed and Thurston and Smith came round for autographs and selfies with anyone who wanted one. The England players just disappeared.

International league is so shit right now.

England are awful, the Kiwis are woeful, Scotland don't even exist, and Australia should stroll the final.

The strength and the ability of the aussies (some great offloads) made the difference.

Re: Eng v Aus Rugby League Sun
Over the years, league has tried to be more spectator friendly as it was professional and spectators mattered more. So they keep the ball moving more and scrums have been almost phased out..
Unfortunately, English league is a bit 1 dimensional and hasn't kept up with Australia at all except in terms of strength and fitness.

League has more flow to it doesn't it?

Less fucking stoppages because some cunt collapsed the scrum

Re: Eng v Aus Rugby League Sun
Not much. I played it at school (in Teddington), and used to go to Twickenham with my Dad when it was easy to pay on the door. But because I'd previously lived in Sydney as a kid and had only seen league, union has always looked weird to me. Plus there is a history of snobbery and persecution from the union establishment that put me off it.

Highlights from today.

Bell End, don't you like RU?

Easy in the end.

Saw one other bloke in a West Ham shirt. Smallish guy around block 114..

Sat in the front row in the corner for the 2nd half. The lower tier is a much better place to watch the game. I'd happily renew if I could get an ST there.

For the first time in a while, I'm looking forwards to a game at the OS.

Re: Eng v Aus Rugby League Sun
The other bloke has blown me out, so if anyone is thinking of going, I have a 25 pound ticket available in block 220, row 40 something.
The downside is that it's next to me and probably surrounded by a load of Northerners.

Re: Eng v Aus Rugby League Sun
I'd like to see England in the final for the good of the game, but also want Australia to smash them on Sunday. Can't have both unfortunately.
Shame it hasn't had more publicity. I know plenty of people who 'don't like rugby' who do like NFL etc, who might enjoy the simpler, harder hitting game with the more football-like culture.
